Embedding entries in a post or page
You can embed an entry on a post or page and have it display in the same configuration as in your View. It's as simple as copying and pasting a link. Requires GravityView 1.6 or newer.
Some things to know:
- Yes, editing an embedded entry works just like it should
- The entry is displayed just as it is configured in the Edit View's "Single Entry" tab
- Multiple entries can be embedded on the same post or page
First, find the entry you wish to embed by navigating your View
In the View, click the link to access the single entry.
Once on the entry, copy the URL
Select the URL of the entry page and copy it.
Create a new post where you want to embed the entry
Click to place the cursor where you want the entry to be displayed.
Paste the URL you copied
When you paste the URL, you will see WordPress display a type of loading graphic, then you should see a placeholder similar to the screenshot below.
Save your post or page
Click "View post"
And voilà: embedded entry!
There is actually another way to do this…
While we're here, we might as well cover the "long way" to embed an entry. Make sure you have copied the URL of the entry and then edit the post where you want to embed the entry.
Click the Add Media button
Then click the "Insert from URL" link
Yeah, we never used to click it either…
Paste the entry URL into the "Insert from URL" input
Click the "Insert into Post" button
You'll notice that the entry you're about to insert is previewed (without styling), so you can make sure that it's the right entry.
And then we're back to where we were earlier.
So you can either just paste the URL or use the Add Media buttons to get you to the same sweet place.
