CSS Guide

Here’s a summary of the CSS classes/IDs used in GravityView.

Container

List and Table Views are wrapped in a container <div>. This container can be modified by using the gravityview/view/wrapper_container filter.

The ID of the container has a counter reflecting the number of times the View is displayed on a page. The counter starts at 1. This is the structure of the container ID:

div#gv-view-{View ID}-{incremental counter}

The first time View #245 is displayed on a page; it will be wrapped in a container of <div id="gv-view-245-1">

The gv_class() Function

The gv_class() function generates classes for the View output. The class format is: .gv-field-{form_id}-{field_id}.

For complex fields, such as address fields, the format will be .gv-field-{form_id}-{field_id}.{input_id}. See “gv_class() supports Merge Tags” below for additional information.

gv_class() supports Merge Tags

gv_class() supports Merge Tags and it will convert entry values to CSS classes using WordPress’ sanitize_html_class() function.

For example, a Merge Tag {Job Title:4} could be replaced with “Labor Relations Specialist”, in which case, it would be formatted as LaborRelationsSpecialist in the HTML output.

Grid System

GravityView uses the following CSS to as grid classes. You can add these classes to your fields using Custom CSS Classes.

  • .gv-grid-col-1-1 - 100% width
  • .gv-grid-col-1-3 - 33.33% width
  • .gv-grid-col-2-3 - 66.66% width
